Everything you need to know
before comparing clinics
Choosing a fertility clinic is one of the most important decisions you will make. These answers are written by our clinical editorial team to help you compare confidently.
The AI Decision Score is a composite index out of 100 using four weighted signals:
·Patient Rating (40%) — Google and verified platform scores, weighted by review volume. A clinic with 4.8 stars and 2,000 reviews ranks higher than one with 4.8 stars and 12 reviews.·IVF Success Rate (35%) — Normalised live-birth rate per initiated cycle, sourced from clinic disclosures and ICMR-reported data.·Patient Review Volume (15%) — Reflects institutional trust over time. A minimum of 50 reviews is required for full scoring.·FN Verified Status (10%) — Clinics that passed our documentation and credentials check receive a verification premium.
The score is recalculated weekly and is not influenced by paid listings or advertising.
IVF success rates in India typically range from 35% to 65% per cycle, depending on patient age, embryo quality, and lab standards:
·Rates above 55% are considered High — achieved by clinics with advanced embryology labs.·Rates of 40–55% are Moderate — typical for well-established clinics.·Rates below 40% may still be appropriate for complex cases.
Always ask whether the rate is per embryo transfer, per retrieval cycle, or per started cycle. FertilityNetwork displays the per-cycle rate where available, which is the most conservative and comparable metric.
The IVF cost shown is the base cycle cost, which typically covers:·Consultation, baseline tests, and ultrasound monitoring·Ovarian stimulation protocols·Egg retrieval procedure and anaesthesia·Embryology lab fees (fertilisation, culture, embryo transfer)
Not included in most quoted prices:·Fertility medications (can add ₹50,000–₹1.2L)·Genetic testing (PGT-A adds ₹25,000–₹60,000)·Donor eggs or sperm (adds ₹40,000–₹80,000)·Embryo freezing and storage (₹10,000–₹20,000/year)
Total treatment costs are typically 1.4–2× the quoted base price.
Evidence from patient decision research suggests that comparing 2–3 options is optimal. Fewer than 2 limits your reference frame; more than 3 creates decision paralysis.
FertilityNetwork's comparison tool is designed for exactly this — a maximum of 3 clinics at a time, ranked by AI Score. We recommend selecting:1. The highest AI-score clinic in your city2. A clinic with a lower cost-per-cycle for a budget reference3. A clinic recommended by your gynaecologist or by a peer with direct experience
Patient ratings are valuable but must be contextualised. High ratings often reflect:·Warm communication and staff responsiveness·Smooth administrative experience·Emotional support during a stressful journey
They do not always correlate with clinical success rates or laboratory technology. A clinic with 4.9 stars and 15 reviews should be weighted differently from one with 4.7 stars and 3,000 reviews.
FertilityNetwork's AI Score combines ratings with success data and review volume to produce a more balanced signal.
An FN Verified badge indicates that the clinic has completed our documentation review, which includes:·Active registration under the PCPNDT Act·ART Bank registration with ICMR or active application·At least one IVF-qualified reproductive endocrinologist on staff·Valid clinic registration certificate from the respective state medical board
Verification does not constitute a medical endorsement or guarantee treatment outcomes. It is a minimum quality threshold.
Yes — the comparison tool allows you to select clinics from different cities within the same session. This is useful when:·You are willing to travel to a metropolitan centre like Mumbai, Chennai, or Bangalore for a specific specialist·You are evaluating your hometown clinic against a well-known chain clinic in a nearby city·Your partner works in a different city
When comparing across cities, weigh travel and accommodation costs against any difference in IVF cost, since a ₹20,000 saving can be offset by 2–3 out-of-city visits.
These are three different assisted reproductive techniques:
·IUI (Intrauterine Insemination) — Processed sperm placed directly in the uterus. Success: 10–20% per cycle. Cost: ₹8,000–₹25,000. For mild male factor or unexplained infertility.·IVF (In Vitro Fertilisation) — Eggs retrieved, fertilised in lab, embryo transferred back. Success: 35–65%. Cost: ₹1.2–₹2.5L base. Standard for moderate-to-severe infertility.·ICSI — A single sperm injected directly into the egg. Used for poor sperm quality. Costs ₹15,000–₹30,000 more than standard IVF.
Check that the treatment you need is listed under the clinic's active treatments.
FertilityNetwork.in does not recommend or endorse any specific clinic. Always consult a qualified reproductive endocrinologist before starting treatment.
